After a stretch of tough breaks, the Braves are finally seeing a wave of good news—this time involving Ronald Acuña Jr.
The star outfielder traveled to Los Angeles for a medical evaluation to determine if he could increase his physical activity. According to reporter Justin Toscano, Acuña was cleared to ramp up his movement and begin working toward a rehab assignment. While there’s still no set return date, it appears he’s on track to come back sometime next month, as initially projected.

This positive update follows a string of encouraging developments for Atlanta. All-Star catcher Sean Murphy recently rejoined the team and has already given the offense a much-needed spark. Spencer Strider is set to make his season debut Wednesday in Toronto, and outfielder Alex Verdugo is expected to debut when the team returns home to Truist Park this weekend.
Now, all eyes turn to Acuña. The original target was a May return, and that still seems likely. Adding both a healthy Strider and Acuña back into the mix is a major boost—not just in talent, but in morale. Even if they’re not at full strength initially, their presence alone is an upgrade from what the Braves have been working with.

But if both return to elite form? Atlanta’s World Series hopes are suddenly back in full focus. The team will likely ease Acuña back into action, but it’s clear he’s eager to get going. La Bestia is nearly back.
