GOOD NEWS: NCAA Sends Astonishing Message About Duke After Caleb Foster News

Jon Scheyer’s Duke Blue Devils came within a game of reaching the NCAA Tournament championship but fell short with a Final Four loss to Houston. That defeat brought an end to the season—and likely the Duke careers—of standout freshmen Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and others. The Blue Devils wrapped up the year with an impressive 35-4 record, landing third in the final AP rankings.

With several key players departing, Duke is now focused on retooling its roster through the transfer portal while also working to retain its returning talent.

One major win for the Blue Devils’ 2025–26 squad came Thursday morning when the official NCAA March Madness X account shared, “Caleb Foster is BACK. The Duke guard announced he’s returning for another year in Durham.”

Foster, who joined Duke from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California, previously played at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg, North Carolina, and Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. He chose Duke over offers from programs like Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson, and Wake Forest.

Last season, Foster played in 38 games, averaging 14 minutes per contest. He grabbed four rebounds in the Final Four matchup against Houston, where he logged 13 minutes. In Duke’s East Region First Round game, Foster made a major impact, scoring 20 points and collecting three rebounds in 20 minutes of play. He served primarily as a backup to Tyrese Proctor, who averaged 12.4 points per game.
