The Philadelphia Phillies have opened the 2025 MLB season with a 10-8 record, but there’s still room for growth as the year progresses. One of their main concerns so far has been the lack of consistent production from center field, with both Alec Bohm and Brandon Marsh struggling offensively.
While it’s still early in the season, the Phillies can’t afford to let their center field problems linger. Thankfully, a potential trade on the horizon could bring in an All-Star-level talent to strengthen the position and provide a much-needed boost.

Phillies Acquire OF Luis Robert Jr. From White Sox in Projected Trade
If the Phillies are serious about improving their center field situation, they should consider reaching out to the Chicago White Sox about a possible deal for Luis Robert Jr. The former All-Star outfielder has been the subject of trade rumors amid the White Sox’s slow start to the season, making him a logical target for manager Rob Thomson and his staff.
Although Robert hasn’t been at his best so far in 2025—batting just .143/.234/.214 through 16 games with one homer, four RBIs, seven walks, and six steals—his struggles could be a reflection of Chicago’s overall poor performance. A fresh start in Philadelphia might help the 27-year-old return to form, especially considering he hit 38 home runs and drove in 80 runs just two seasons ago while posting a .264 average and .857 OPS.
Despite his current slump, Robert still has upside and time to rebound. His dip in performance could actually lower his trade value, making it more feasible for the Phillies to strike a deal. Since the White Sox are deep in pitching prospects, any potential trade would likely need to include position players.
The centerpiece of this proposal is outfielder Dante Nori, the Phillies’ No. 6 prospect. Drafted 27th overall last year, the 20-year-old has shown early promise in Single-A Clearwater, notching 11 RBIs, 23 walks, and six stolen bases while slashing .244/.398/.278 in 90 at-bats over two seasons.
Joining Nori would be second baseman Devin Saltiban, the organization’s No. 9 prospect. A 2023 third-round pick, Saltiban had a strong year in Clearwater with 17 homers and 53 RBIs but has struggled at the High-A level so far in 2025.
All things considered, offering two top-10 positional prospects is a reasonable price for acquiring Robert—especially with his value down and team-friendly contract in place, including $20 million options for both 2026 and 2027. If the Phillies want to make a meaningful push this season, now’s the time to make a move.
