GOOD NEWS: The Auburn Gets Huge Update On Elite 2026 QB

Auburn University’s 2026 football recruiting efforts received a major boost with top quarterback prospect Travis Burgess moving closer to making a decision. According to On3 Recruits, Burgess — a star at Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia — is expected to commit after spring practices wrap up. The Tigers are in a tight recruiting battle with North Carolina, with both programs making strong pushes to land the elite signal-caller.

Burgess, considered one of the premier quarterbacks in the 2026 class, has been a key focus for Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze, who places high importance on developing quarterbacks. Auburn has remained active in his recruitment, most notably hosting him for an unofficial visit in late March. During that visit, Burgess spoke highly of Freeze and the program’s culture, naming Auburn among his top five schools, along with North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Duke. Recent remarks from Burgess, however, suggest the decision is likely to come down to Auburn and UNC.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and known for his powerful arm and playmaking skills, Burgess would be a foundational addition to Auburn’s 2026 class. That class already includes standout four-star wide receiver Devin Carter. After back-to-back seven-loss seasons, securing a commitment from Burgess could mark a turning point for the Tigers as they aim to rebuild and reassert themselves in the SEC.

With spring practices underway, the focus now shifts to Burgess and the decision that could help define Auburn’s future.
