BREAKING: Virginia Tech Land Another Top-Notch Fans Man

2023 NCAA Champion Youssef Ramadan has confirmed he will be returning to Virginia Tech for his COVID-19 fifth year.

Ramadan, who hails from Egypt, made an immediate impact as a freshman for the Hokies. In 2021, he won an ACC title in the 100 fly and qualified for the NCAA Championships. Although he didn’t compete in the 100 fly at the NCAAs that year, he made the ‘A’ final in the 50 free, finishing 8th, and placed 10th in the 100 free, contributing 18 individual points as Virginia Tech finished 11th overall.

In his sophomore year, Ramadan secured ACC titles in both the 100 free and 100 fly. He reached two NCAA ‘A’ finals, finishing 3rd in the 100 fly and 7th in the 50 free, scoring 33.5 individual points as the team maintained their 11th place finish.

As a junior, Ramadan captured his first individual NCAA title with a time of 43.15 in the 100 fly. He also placed 5th in the 50 free (18.82) and 8th in the 100 free (41.61), leading the team with 45 individual points to a 9th place finish.

This past season, he returned to the ‘A’ final of the 100 fly, finishing 4th with a time of 43.95. He also placed 9th in the 100 free and 11th in the 50 free, scoring 32 individual points and helping Virginia Tech secure another 9th place finish.

Ramadan’s return is crucial for Virginia Tech, especially since he was a key member of four relay teams at the 2024 NCAAs, all of which scored, with three finishing in the top 8. The team had only two other individual scorers, Carles Coll Marti and AJ Pouch, the latter of whom graduated after using his fifth year this past season.
