As Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have a difficult preseason, the Chiefs announce an unexpected retirement.

After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 40–22 in Super Bowl LIX, the Kansas City Chiefs are on a quest for redemption. Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes was unable to contribute significantly to the Chiefs’ offence in one of his poorest games ever. Famous tight end Travis Kelce also had a terrible game; in fact, some people thought he might be done playing football. Thousands of fans will be devastated by the Kansas City Chiefs’ poignant revelation that Dan Meers, the guy behind mascot “KC Wolf,” is finally retiring after 35 years of incredible performances. Meers, who has been a vital member of Chiefs Kingdom since 1989, is well-known for his exploits, enthusiasm, and commitment.Among the current Chiefs who made the list were defensive tackle Chris Jones, tight end Travis Kelce, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City was one of only two teams, after the San Francisco 49ers, to have four current representatives on the list. Mahomes, who finished as the team’s third quarterback behind Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, already has three Super Bowl titles and five AFC titles on his resume, and his 17 career postseason wins are second only to Brady’s among all quarterbacks. He also holds the league records for passing yards (32,352) and passing touchdowns (245) through 112 career games in NFL history.
