Celtic is being tipped to sign striker Evan Ferguson from Brighton and Hove Albion, even though he’s got a pretty big price tag of £28 million, according to Football Insider. The 20-year-old, who plays for the Republic of Ireland and has 22 caps, isn’t exactly sure what his future looks like at the AMEX Stadium.
Ferguson, originally from Drogheda, came to the Seagulls back in 2021 after moving from Bohemians. Since then, he’s netted 17 goals in 80 matches across all competitions. Last winter, he was loaned to West Ham, but things didn’t really go his way there.
He might really benefit from a new environment where he can get consistent playing time. Even though it feels like he’s been around for ages, he’s still really young. There’s no doubt he can have a stellar career ahead, and he’s probably thinking about what his next step will be.
