Dan Evans discusses whether he thinks Novak Djokovic will win Wimbledon this year. The odds are in favour of Novak Djokovic winning a record-tying eighth Wimbledon championship. The Serbian is playing some excellent tennis as he goes in search of a record 25th Grand Slam title.

After defeating Alex de Minaur, Djokovic advanced to the 16th round of the SW19 quarterfinals, where he will take on Flavio Cobolli. The 34-year-old has expressed whether he believes the former world number one can win the title on Sunday after Djokovic defeated Dan Evans of Britain on his way to the round of eight. Following a close opening set, Djokovic steadied himself and lost just two more games for the rest of the three-set match. After their match and based on Djokovic’s performance in the two subsequent sets, Evans believes the 38-year-old is ready to win Wimbledon once more.Evans told talkSPORT, “I think he will take a lot of confidence after yesterday’s performance because he was definitely one of the better grass court players in the world.” He will have undoubtedly studied and learned something from Sinner vs. Dimitrov’s match last night, in my opinion. I imagine him sitting contentedly, enjoying his food from last night. I believe he looks good. I see him coming out on top. This year, Alcaraz hasn’t been flawless yet. He has also been an avid tennis player. Therefore, I believe Novak is in a good position. I believe Wimbledon is poised for a spectacular conclusion.

Djokovic advanced to the Wimbledon round of 16 with ease and maintained an air of superiority throughout his match against Miomir Kecmanović in the third round. However, the 38-year-old dropped the opening set 1-6, and during the breaks in play, he was observed doing breathing and yoga exercises and putting ice on his stomach. Djokovic was a little evasive about his physical state and seemed to brush off any discomfort in order to pull off a comeback victory. “To be honest, I’m not sure how I’m feeling. I didn’t get off to a fantastic start,” the sixth seed remarked after the game.
The Italian star, however, appeared unfazed by Monday’s events and easily defeated an in-form Shelton. Following the game, former British Davis Cup captain John Lloyd discussed Sinner’s growth into a top player. It’s simply nearly hard to stay with him, and despite his best efforts, Shelton was unable to break him down and ultimately made too many mistakes. However, Sinner will be ecstatic about his performance. It was spotless. Co-commentator Andrew Castle subsequently questioned Lloyd about whether a matchup between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner is inevitable in the men’s singles final. “I wouldn’t say certainly,” Lloyd continued, “that Novak will be dangerous if he wins that quarterfinal.
