The Jaguars are relieved to see the dreaded rival Titans’ dismal 2025 forecast.

Although the Tennessee Titans have had a difficult run of games lately, it appears that they will soon turn the wheel. They still need to improve, though, before they can pose a real challenge to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the other teams in the AFC South. That belief is supported by a recent prediction. The Jags were shockingly not chosen by Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton, who looked at each NFL division’s weakest link. He predicts the Titans to finish last in the AFC South instead, pointing out that while Cam Ward offers them hope, his teammates may ultimately hold him back.
Cameron Ward, the first overall choice, should delight Tennessee Titans supporters, Moton wrote. “He can finish drives on quarterback keepers, extend plays with his legs, and make throws all over the field.” But Tennessee is surrounded by a mediocre supporting cast. The Titans don’t have a wide receiver in his prime performing at his best outside of Calvin Ridley.
“Van Jefferson hasn’t had more than 24 receptions in a season since 2021,” Moton added. Over the past three years, Tyler Lockett’s receiving yards have drastically decreased. Treylon Burks has struggled with injuries, which has made it difficult for him to become reliable over the course of three seasons. According to Pro Football Focus, Titans left tackle Dan Moore Jr. gave up 12 sacks while playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers the previous season.
Moton continues by emphasizing that Chig Okonkwo is a reliable but unimpressive starter, noting that he hasn’t averaged more than ten yards a catch in either of the last two seasons and has six touchdowns overall since 2022. Moton’s forecast isn’t unexpected because Tennessee’s win totals going into training camp are 5.5, according to BETMGM. Mike Borgonzi took over as general manager in place of Ran Carthon, while head coach Brian Callahan is starting his second season with the Titans. You could claim that they’re still rebuilding based on their young movement and anticipated victories.
Ahead of the regular season, Cam Ward received overwhelmingly positive reviews and has the potential to be a fixture for the Jacksonville Jaguars for years to come. The Tennessee Titans still have a lot of work to do to catch up to the rest of the division, so it might not be this year. The rookie quarterback is actually going into a scenario that is similar to Trevor Lawrence’s in 2021.
The former Clemson Tiger was a promising rookie that year. But the Jags didn’t assemble a strong team around the inept Urban Meyer, who they hired as head coach. Lawrence had a difficult first season, which was not surprising, but it was largely due to the lack of support he received from the organization.
