INJURY: Bills’ Josh Allen Gives Unexpected Report Over Mind-Blowing Injury

Josh Allen discusses his hand injury as the Buffalo Bills prepare for their Thursday Night Football game against the Dolphins.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen reassured reporters that the left hand injury he suffered during Sunday’s season-opening victory against the Arizona Cardinals will not affect his performance moving forward.

Josh Allen, who participated fully in practice this week, downplayed the seriousness of his left hand injury. Following Tuesday’s practice, he expressed confidence in his readiness for the Bills’ Thursday night game against the Miami Dolphins, noting that his hand felt good.

“Just trying to keep things as normal as possible,” Allen said. “I felt like I threw the ball well today and was able to do everything, so I’m ready to go.”

Allen wore a glove on his left hand during practice for extra protection, though he hasn’t decided if he’ll wear it during the game. He explained that using a glove isn’t entirely unfamiliar, as he’s done so in the past during cold-weather games.

“I’ve worn it a long time ago in a couple of cold games,” Allen said. “So it’s not something completely new to me, just there for a little extra help.”

Despite his injury, Josh Allen played a key role in the Bills’ 34-17 win over the Cardinals. He completed 18 of 23 passes for 232 yards and threw two touchdown passes. As a dual-threat quarterback, Allen also made an impact on the ground, rushing for 39 yards and adding two rushing touchdowns to his performance. His only significant mistake was a first-half fumble, but overall, it was a strong showing.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott expressed confidence in Josh Allen’s readiness for Thursday’s game, highlighting his full participation in practice this week. However, McDermott confirmed that cornerback Taron Johnson and defensive end Dawuane Smoot have been ruled out for the matchup against the Dolphins, potentially impacting the Bills’ defense as they face Miami’s high-powered offense led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Allen remains focused on delivering his usual high level of play. The team has taken precautions to ensure he is fully prepared for the crucial AFC East divisional clash.

Allen’s toughness has become a defining trait of his career, as he often plays through injuries without compromising his performance. With the Bills looking to build on their Week 1 win, Allen’s role will be key in establishing early momentum during Thursday Night Football.
