DONE DEAL: Warriors Lands Top-Notch Sharpshooter In Blockbuster Deal

The Golden State Warriors have had a busy offseason in 2024, with the most significant development being the departure of longtime sharpshooter Klay Thompson. In an effort to fill that gap, they acquired Buddy Hield as a potential replacement. However, even with Thompson last season, the Warriors needed more talent, which explains their ongoing roster adjustments as the 2024-25 season approaches.

Most of the key contributors for the upcoming season are already on the team, but the Warriors are still seeking additional players to enhance their roster. This search led them to former Lakers shooter Blake Hinson, whom they signed to an Exhibit 10 deal on Thursday night.

Warriors hoping to find diamond in the rough in Blake Hinson

Hinson went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft but caught on with the Lakers for Summer League, where he posted solid stats (11.4 PPG, 2 RPG, 1.4 APG, 35.7 FG%). Although he initially had a two-way contract with Los Angeles, Hinson chose to sign with the Warriors, who hope he can develop into a reliable three-point shooter; he hit 42.1 percent of his threes in his final season at Pittsburgh.

The Warriors are unlikely to give Hinson immediate playing time, given their depth of talent, but they will be looking for him to showcase enough potential to secure a consistent role in the future. The Lakers might come to regret losing Hinson to Golden State, and it will be intriguing to see how this low-key signing unfolds.
