SHOCK!!! Alex Cora Confirms Unexpected Decision Over struggling Red Sox Superstar’s Tenure

Kenley Jansen may have pitched his final game for the Red Sox. He helped secure the first win in Sunday’s doubleheader sweep over the Twins with a scoreless ninth inning, highlighted by a strikeout using a 96 mph cutter against Minnesota’s Jose Miranda.

However, later that night, Red Sox manager Alex Cora indicated that Jansen is likely heading to the injured list due to a sore shoulder. “There’s a good chance Kenley goes on the IL,” Cora said, noting that Jansen has been struggling with the shoulder and that recovery isn’t currently feasible. He mentioned that Jansen’s performance was concerning, as he started the outing at 89 mph before hitting 96 later on.

Jansen’s two-year, $32 million contract expires after this season, leaving his future with the team uncertain. If this was indeed his last appearance, he will finish with 56 saves in 64 opportunities, posting a 3.44 ERA over 99.1 innings with the Red Sox.

In other news, Triston Casas made headlines by hitting three home runs in the first game of the doubleheader, tying a team record. This marked the 36th time a Red Sox player has hit three homers in a game, with five players having accomplished this feat more than once.

The Red Sox completed their sweep with Romy Gonzalez adding a three-run homer in the second game. Meanwhile, in preseason action, the Bruins lost to the Rangers 3-2.
