Jannik Sinner has helped continue the monopoly he and Carlos Alcaraz hold over men’s tennis after winning their Wimbledon final.

ATP number one Sinner defeated Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 on Centre Court, securing his first Wimbledon title. The success means the Italian and Spanish superstars have now won each of the last seven Grand Slam titles, and eight of the last nine.

Alcaraz congratulated Sinner on his Wimbledon win, which he managed after three hours and four minutes in London.

Their latest clash comes just one month after the pair played out a five-hour, 29-minute French Open final, which the Spaniard won.

Men’s tennis has big question to answer after Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz Wimbledon final

But despite another exciting final, former player Patrick McEnroe has raised a concern about the men’s game, referencing the Big Three of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

He said on ESPN: “You talk about the era of the Big Three, you still had Andy Murray there and Stan Wawrinka and other guys.

What Carlos Alcaraz’s coaching team were seen doing just minutes after Jannik Sinner won the Wimbledon title

“Now the question becomes in men’s tennis, who else is out there? Who else can compete with these guys?“At the moment there is nobody. There is Novak Djokovic if he’s 100% healthy but that’s a huge question mark going forward. Can he get to the point where he is healthy enough late in majors to compete with these guys?

“Taylor Fritz had an excellent tournament, Ben Shelton had an excellent tournament, Jack Draper people were talking about him early but none of them are at the level of these two guys right now and that’s the challenge for men’s tennisIt is certainly an interesting time on the ATP Tour to say the least, with fans perhaps split over what they want to see next.

Many will be glad that Sinner and Alcaraz have been able to take over from Djokovic, Nadal and Federer, ensuring men’s tennis is in safe hands for the foreseeable future..”
