Before their dominant win over the McNeese Cowboys today, Texas A&M football received some encouraging recruiting news.
Texas A&M football recruiting: Aggies pick up another DB by flipping Rashad Johnson Jr. from Georgia Bulldogs
Texas A&M football is aiming to finish strong with their 2025 recruiting class. The Aggies recently hosted a large group of top recruits for a game, and it appears the exciting atmosphere is already making an impact.
Among the visitors was Rashad Johnson Jr., a defensive back from Bushnell, FL, who was previously committed to Georgia. Standing 6’2″ and weighing 190 lbs, Johnson had pledged to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs in July.
Johnson is the 21st addition to the Aggies’ recruiting class, which is now ranked as the eighth-best in the nation, with potential for further improvement. The Aggies are aiming to secure commitments from highly-rated prospects who are currently committed to other programs, such as Lamont Rogers, a top offensive tackle committed to Mizzou, who recently visited Kyle Field.

If things go as the Aggies hope, Johnson might be the first of several potential flips. A successful season could boost their chances, and recent developments suggest there’s more optimism than many fans had after a disappointing first game.
Johnson will be joining a defensive back group that includes Adonyss Currie, Cobey Sellers, Deyjhon Pettaway, and Jamar Beal-Goines. This group is notably fast, which aligns with the specific traits that Elko and his staff have targeted in this recruiting class.
